Experience with over 300 commercial cannabis cultivation facilities from 2,000 to 200,000 square feet of canopy. I have worked with over 100 cannabis companies in North America.
Over a decade in Controlled Environment Agriculture - a passion for highly efficient, tightly controlled, indoor cultivation.
My career in CEA began in 2010 with the design, construction and operation of Aqua Vita Farms, one of the first and the largest facilities of its type on the East Coast.
Entrepreneurial and innovative industry executive with documented excellence designing, building, and managing day-to-day operations for CEA-centric companies.
Experience with all methods of production including aeroponics, aquaponics, and hydroponics including flood and drain and pressure compensated drip systems. Single tier, vertical farming, archive style racking, and all media types including rock wool, coir, peat based, and soil.
Having been part of the team for hundreds of cannabis cultivation facilities I have seen what works and what does not. Greenhouse, warehouse, and outdoor experience in all U.S. States with legal markets, Canada, South America and Europe. This level of experience allows for an unprecedented capability for speed to market, on time and on budget construction, and reduced operational expense.
I seek to bridge the gap between those who are entering the cannabis space financially and the realities of the cannabis cultivation with regard to design, construction, and operations. Advising investors, owners, operators, growers, and the myriad of other stakeholders to bring the "right people, to the right place at the right time".
Indoor cultivation facilities may be purpose built or constructed in unused or underused warehouse or manufacturing space. I have worked on projects that range from 2,000 square feet of canopy to 200,000 square feet of canopy.
Greenhouses come in a wide variety of styles and levels of automation. Of primary concern for the success of Greenhouse production facilities is crop selection and location. For crops which require high Daily Light Integral (DLI) greenhouses will require supplemental light to an extent which may degrade the advantages gained from sunlight in certain regions.
I have worked directly with the top equipment and systems providers in the Controlled Environment Agriculture industry. Such as: Priva, Argus, Dosatron, Netafim, PL Light Systems, Fluence, BIOS, Gavita, Phantom, Soleil, GGS Structures, Conley's Greenhouse Mfg., Accelerated Growth Solutions (AGS), DryGair, BioTherm Solutions, Desert Aire, and Carrier.
My experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture began in 2010 when I founded Aqua Vita Farms. Located in Upstate New York AVF was a first of its kind, 14,000 square foot indoor aquaponic farm cultivating lettuce, basil, custom herbs, and seafood for local restaurants and food service establishments.
Managed the entire design and construction process of converting an abandoned factory in Central New York into an indoor ecosystem that consisted of four 5,000 gallon stock tanks, and over 7,000 square feet of Deep Water Culture Hydroponic, double stacked, cultivation all under artificial light. This operation was a "crash course" in CEA, the lessons learned I try to pass on to the entrepreneurs I work with today.
